Biffa Waste Services in Horsham is seeking an Education and Community Engagement Officer for a 24-hour-per-week part-time role with flexible working Monday to Friday. The salary is up to £20,000 per annum, based on 24 hours per week.

You will build relationships with local schools, community groups and residents, delivering campaigns to promote recycling and sustainability, and organising site visits and open days that are safe and informative.

Qualifikationen

• Previous employment in a relevant industrial or commercial environment.
• Good understanding of environmental issues and waste management practices.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with social media for communication and engagement.
• Willingness to undergo a CRB (DBS) disclosure check and occasional evening work.

Aufgaben

• Deliver marketing, communications and engagement activity aligned with plans and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver awareness campaigns and community events to promote recycling and sustainable behaviours; build local partnerships.
• Organise and deliver educational programmes for schools and community groups in line with the National Curriculum.
• Plan, manage and host site visits, open days and tours with safe, engaging materials.
• Be the first point of contact for community enquiries and complaints with timely responses via multiple channels.
• Represent the service at stakeholder meetings and lead external communications to strengthen local profile.
