We’re looking for a motivated and community-focused Waste Management Officer to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality waste services in partnership with Biffa.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the performance of our waste contracts.
• Work closely with Biffa and internal council teams to identify and implement service improvements.
• Lead annual community engagement campaigns to promote green waste sign-ups.
• Represent the council at public events and liaise with residents.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to deliver recycling and waste initiatives.

About You

• Experience in waste management, recycling, or environmental services, ideally within local government or the commercial waste sector (e.g., Biffa, Veolia, SUEZ).
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Confident in planning and attending community events.
• Passionate about sustainability and service improvement.
