Job summary

First Military Recruitment is partnering with a national construction business to recruit a Sustainability Advisor for a permanent role based at their Workington depot. The package includes £45,000 salary plus a £5,060 car allowance and a comprehensive benefits suite.

You will develop project sustainability plans, liaise with site teams and supply chain, and support ISO 50001 commitments, energy data collection, and reporting across sites.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of sustainability issues in construction; willing to undertake further training.
• Preferably degree level qualified; working towards or hold ISEF membership.
• Understand construction process and collaborate with engineers for sustainable solutions.
• Strong grasp of carbon reduction planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop project-specific sustainability management plans aligned to strategy.
• Liaise with site teams and supply chain to meet sustainability objectives.
• Develop communication tools to inform personnel and stakeholders about sustainability topics.
• Assist in data collection and reporting for energy and emission reporting (ISO 50001).
• Identify opportunities to deliver value through sustainable approaches.
• Engage with procurement to drive HTUK objectives and client requirements.
• Report monthly on project and business sustainability performance.
• Support ongoing development to improve practice and provide high-quality support.
