Job summary

NES Fircroft are recruiting a Survey Workshop Engineer for a key Oilfield Services client in Aberdeen, on a permanent staff basis. This on-site role sits within the Survey Asset department and reports to the Survey Asset Manager.

You will inspect, maintain and test survey and positioning equipment, while supporting related logistical activities. Electronics equipment experience is required, with advantageous exposure to ROVs.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronics equipment in a workshop or field setting.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures in equipment maintenance.
• Willingness to work on site in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities

• Testing, maintenance and preparation of Asset equipment for projects in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers to repair damage or faulty equipment in house or arrange out-of-house repairs and follow process.
• Update records of equipment maintenance, services, calibration, failure and repairs, and close out fault reports from offshore teams.
• Responsible for receipt, storage and registering of all new equipment into the Asset Tracking System.
• Assist Support Engineers as required in equipment selection and asset availability for project needs.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to offshore survey teams and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Assist vessel mobilisation/demobilisation by liaising with the support team and using internal documents as reference.
• Maintain inventory and stock levels of equipment and consumables.
• Assist in maintaining tools and equipment registers for survey equipment maintenance and repair.
• Work according to QA/QC procedures and contribute to improvements.

This is a full time on site role, and you will be part of the Survey Asset department, reporting to the Survey Asset Manager. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and testing of survey and positioning equipment, while supporting related logistical activities.

For this role, we need an individual with electronics equipment experience...it would be very advantageous if this was ROV related, but not essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Testing, maintenance, and preparation of Asset equipment for projects in line with department QA/QC procedures
• Liaise with suppliers to repair damage or faulty equipment in house, or to arrange out of house repairs and following of process
• Update records of equipment maintenance, services, calibration, failure & repairs, and close out fault reports submitted from the offshore teams
• Responsible for the receipt, storage and registering of all new equipment into the department Asset Tracking System
• Assist Support Engineers as required in equipment selection, and Asset availability, as required in support of project requirements
• Provide technical assistance, support and advise to offshore survey teams for any equipment matters and liaise with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues
• If required, assist vessel mobilisations and demobilisations by liaising with the support team, utilising internal documents as reference
• Maintains inventory and stock levels of all equipment and consumables
• Assist in maintaining necessary tools and equipment registers required to execute survey equipment maintenance and repair
• Working according to the department QA/QC procedures, standards and specifications and contribute to their improvement
