Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Hereford team on a full-time basis. The role supports the patient’s surgical journey and pre-surgery assessment, contributing to a smooth, nurse-led pathway.

A medical and surgical background is desirable, with venipuncture and ECG skills beneficial. The environment is fast-paced, and there are shadowing opportunities with MDTs to develop your career.

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients in clinical settings.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of personal care procedures and safety standards.
• Understanding of clinical environment and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurse in direct and indirect patient care.
• Report concerns about cleanliness, hazards, and patient safety.
• Keep nurse updated on patient conditions and progress.
• Ensure equipment and environment are clean and safe.
