Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Surgical Assessment Unit. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients referred from ED, GPs, and other sources, within a fast-paced Same Day Emergency Care service.

You will work as part of a team, develop clinical competencies, and contribute to an evolving service that places patient-centred care at its heart.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Health studies.
• NMC Registration and ongoing professional development.
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
• Non-medical prescriber where applicable.
• IT skills to support clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work.
• Continuously assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment using appropriate care programs.
• Deliver high-quality, safe nursing care in line with Trust policies.
• Practice in accordance with the NMC Code and maintain registration.
• Communicate empathetically with patients and families and colleagues.
• Maintain confidential records in compliance with Data Protection and NHS standards.
