Job summary

South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU). You will help deliver high-quality, safe, compassionate and inclusive care to patients attending SAU, working with a larger team to assess, monitor and support patients throughout their attendance.

The role offers opportunities to develop clinical skills, complete required competencies, and contribute to an evolving Same Day Emergency Care service.

• Responsible for patient care needs and for implementing and evaluating procedures/interventions.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU). This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the emergency surgical team at a pivotal time, as we continue to develop and expand our Same Day Emergency Care service for patients referred from a variety of sources, including the Emergency Department and GPs.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, compassionate, effective & inclusive care to patients attending the Surgical Assessment Unit. You will work as part of a larger team to assess, monitor, and support patients throughout their attendance, ensuring excellent patient experience and outcomes.

Working within SAU provides a varied and rewarding environment, offering opportunities to develop a broad range of clinical skills. As part of your role, you will be required to complete and achieve sign-off of the relevant clinical competencies.

To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients receiving medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the procedure / interventions.
