Job summary

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Clinical Support Worker Higher Level to join the Surgical Admissions Unit. You will support patients through admission, perioperative care and discharge, with band progression to Band 3 possible on qualification.

The post is part-time (24 hours per week) at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, with a pro-rata annual salary around £25,272–£27,476 depending on band and development.

Qualifications

• Band 3 requirements include Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE (A-C).
• Care Certificate or equivalent training; Level 3 knowledge in patient care duties.

Responsibilities

• Admit patients for surgery and care for them post-operatively.
• Support with patient discharge when safe to go home.
• Record baseline clinical observations and venepuncture as required.
• Assist with maintaining clean equipment and safe waste handling.
