Job summary

St Helens Council is seeking a Supported Living Worker to support adults with learning disabilities in their own homes. The role covers direct personal care, risk assessment, and implementation of person-centred plans to promote independence.

Shifts include early/late patterns, sleep-in duties, weekends, and bank holidays, with training aligned to Care Quality Commission standards. Applicants with experience in learning disability care are welcome; NVQ2 in Health & Social Care is advantageous.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is advantageous.
• Employees are required to follow policies and procedures and undertake essential training to meet Care Quality Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care using safer handling equipment as assessed.
• Support service users to manage challenging behaviour while promoting independence.
• Work within multi‑agency approaches to support positive behaviour management and safety.
