The individual that we support is a 61 year old woman, who resides in her own bungalow in Partington. Despite her mild learning disability and autism, she is highly capable of managing daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care, when being given the correct support to manage these tasks by her staff team.
Our individual has poor vision, which means that she will need extra support when out in the community or at home. Due to having physical conditions that affect her walking, she uses a wheelchair to mobilise. She sometimes can suffer with low mood and anxiety, which can sometimes lead to unpredictable moods and verbal outbursts.
She enjoys socialising, playing with her Lego, using her tablet, and sometimes, might want to take part in the occasional activity in the community. With great encouragement and engagement levels, opportunities could be given to her to live the best quality of life. While she may initially resist support, patience and trust-building are key to forming a positive relationship.
