Job Description
Frontline Manager – Aylesbury

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Frontline Manager, whether you're looking to build on your management experience or take the next step in your career? Do you believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live a glorious ordinary life, filled with choice, connection and meaningful opportunities? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a Frontline Manager 37.5 hours a week, the role requires shift work, including some weekdays, weekends and bank holidays, to lead a dedicated and skilled team at our warm and welcoming registered care home in Aylesbury, where six women with learning disabilities are supported to live lives that are rich, fulfilling and uniquely their own.

About the home

This is a vibrant home where relationships, community and individual passions are at the heart of everyday life. The women we support are active members of their local community, and spending time with friends and family, potential candidates should consider how they would support with this. This includes recognising each person's gifts, skills and passions. and exploring ways to develop and nurture these strengths to provide a sense of purpose and meaningful involvement.

At home, there's always something happening – from baking and arts and crafts to relaxing in the garden or enjoying meaningful one-to-one time. Every person brings their own personality, interests and sense of humour, and the team takes pride in supporting each woman to pursue what matters most to her.

About the role

As Frontline Manager, you'll lead by example, creating a positive culture where great support can flourish. You'll work alongside your team, coaching and developing colleagues to deliver truly person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and belonging.

Communication is central to this role. Several of the women use Makaton and other non-verbal forms of communication, so you'll champion approaches that ensure every person has a voice, is listened to and can influence the support they receive.

You'll be responsible for the overall leadership and development of the service, ensuring high-quality support and positive outcomes for the people who live there. You'll build strong partnerships with families, professionals, the local authority and the wider community, helping the service continue to grow and thrive.

You'll also work closely with managers from two nearby MacIntyre services, sharing ideas, resources and expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes for everyone we support.

What you’ll bring

You'll be an experienced leader who understands what good support looks like and is passionate about helping people live the lives they choose.

You'll have:

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • Previous leadership experience as a Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar.
  • A strong understanding of person-centred practice and positive support.
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
  • Experience developing support plans, risk assessments and ensuring compliance.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, families and external professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to listening to and valuing every voice.

Alongside the people-focused aspects of the role, you'll oversee the day-to-day management of the service, including rota management, quality assurance, compliance and staff development, ensuring the home remains a safe, high-quality and inspiring place to live and work.

Most importantly, you'll share MacIntyre's belief that ordinary moments can be extraordinary, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life full of purpose, connection and possibility.

Please note: Due to the nature of the support provided and the wishes of the people who live at the service, this post is open to female applicants only. This is an Occupational Requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
