Job description

Help Create Gloriously Ordinary Lives with MacIntyre

Imagine a job where supporting someone to pop into town, enjoy a swim, listen to their favourite music, or spend time outdoors isn't just part of the day – it's what makes the day meaningful.

At MacIntyre, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a gloriously ordinary life, filled with the everyday moments, friendships, hobbies and choices that matter most. We're looking for someone who shares that belief.

We're looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly team, supporting three fantastic young men – Ben, Joe and Gary* – in their home near Abingdon.

Hours:

  • 16.5 hours per week
  • Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • 9.00am – 2.30pm

You will need to be a driver, with a UK manual licence.

This is a role where relationships come first. You\'ll get to know each person as an individual, supporting them to do the things they enjoy, build confidence, develop independence and live life on their own terms.

Meet Gary

Gary loves spending time outdoors and has a real passion for animals, especially horses. He also enjoys music, getting creative through art, and exploring new places and experiences. Every day is different for Gary, and he thrives when supported by someone who shares his enthusiasm for being active, trying new things, and making the most of opportunities in the community.

You'll always work alongside another colleague, supporting Gary to live a fun, active, and meaningful life. Together, you'll spend your days out and about, helping Gary discover activities and experiences that reflect his gifts, skills, interests, and passions. Whether that's visiting local parks, spending time with animals, enjoying music, getting creative, or finding new community opportunities, your role will be to support Gary to build meaningful connections and enjoy life to the fullest.

This is a role for someone who is creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Plans and activities can change throughout the day, so you\'ll need to be adaptable and enjoy variety. Most importantly, you\'ll be someone who values person-centred support and is committed to helping Gary live the life he chooses.

Why join MacIntyre?

At MacIntyre, you\'ll have the time to build genuine relationships and focus on what really matters to the people you support. We don\'t just provide care—we support people to live fulfilling, ordinary lives in extraordinary ways.

You don\'t need previous experience in care—what matters most is kindness, curiosity and a genuine belief that everyone deserves a good life. We\'ll provide all the training and support you need to build a rewarding career.

If you\'re looking for a role where you\'ll laugh, learn, build lasting relationships and help people live gloriously ordinary lives every day, we\'d love to hear from you.
