Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with welcoming schools across Durham and the surrounding areas to recruit compassionate, resilient Support Workers for the 2026/27 academic year. If you have experience in care, residential settings, mental health, or working with SEND, you could transfer your skills into education and make a real difference for pupils.

We welcome applications from Support Workers, Care Workers, Youth Workers and related roles who are patient, reliable and passionate about helping

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Support Worker, Care Worker or Youth Worker is valuable.
  • Care, residential settings, mental health, SEMH, autism, SEND, youth work or community support experience is relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in school settings to raise attainment and wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships, support emotional wellbeing and encourage independence.

Are you a Support Worker, Care Worker or Youth Worker looking for a new challenge?

Milk Education is working with welcoming and supportive schools across Durham and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated people to join our schools throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

Your experience supporting people could be exactly what a child or young person needs.

We're particularly interested in speaking to people with experience in care, residential settings, mental health, challenging behaviour, autism, SEND, youth work or community support.

You don't necessarily need previous school experience - your transferable skills could be a perfect fit.
