Job summary

The National Autistic Society is seeking a Bank Support Worker to help autistic adults live their best lives by following individual support plans and daily routines.

You will assist with personal care, encourage enjoyable activities, and support life skills such as budgeting, shopping and meal preparation. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required, and a driving licence is preferred. DBS check is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential.
• Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the people supported, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts).

  For you to inspire others with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable people

• Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome, Your working pattern in this role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the people supported and their families and will include evening and weekend working.

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) is preferred., To protect our autistic adults at the National Autistic Society, all staff are required to have a criminal background check. Possession of an Enhanced DBS Check either on the Update Service or conducted within the last 12 months would be preferable but not essential.
