Job summary

Discovery is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker in Ruishton, Taunton for a part-time 27-hour role. You will help seven adults feel safe, comfortable and supported through the night, in a calm and reassuring environment.

You will carry out safety checks, maintain a hygienic space, and accurately record plans and logs using IT systems to ensure high-quality care and wellbeing throughout the night.

About the role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping seven adults aged between their 30s and 80s feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout the night. You'll be part of a caring team, creating a calm and reassuring environment where everyone can rest well and feel secure

Your role will include:

  • Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
  • Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
  • Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
  • Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
  • Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
