Job Description:

Be There When It Matters Night Support Worker - Supporting Young People

Come and join us as a Waking Nights Support Worker in St Albans and you'll soon see what makes this work so rewarding!

You'll join the expanding team at our residential children’s home in St Albans, where we provide support for up to five children and young people, aged 11 to 18, who have learning disabilities and autism.

You'll be a calming presence when young people are awake at night, and check at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep, ready for school or college the next day. You will need to provide support with intimate care as part of your role, so everyone is comfortable and able to rest. This is an important role to make sure young people feel safe overnight, especially those who are in new surroundings and still settling in. Other than reassuring young people overnight, you'll also play a key role in tidying the house so everyone wakes up to a clean, welcoming space that starts the day right.

This is a full-time role for 38 hours per week.

About you

It would be helpful if you have experience working with people with learning disabilities, but this isn’t essential as we will provide a full induction and ongoing training and support from your line manager and our expert teams.

You will need to be a driver with a UK Manual Licence for this role.
