Community Integrated Care in Hemsworth, Wakefield is recruiting a Female Support Worker on a maternity cover basis for 40 hours per week, ending 29 May 2027. The role involves supporting residents at Carlton Close with a mix of day and night shifts.

You will work to promote independence, engage residents in local activities, and support daily living tasks. We offer DBS paid, flexible hours, and development opportunities.

Our Supported Living Service in Hemsworth, WF9 is seeking 1 x Female Support Worker to provide support to our residents.

This position is for Maternity Cover and is for 40hrs per week and is due to end on 29 May 2027.

We need empathic, patient staff to provide person-centered support to individuals who are living here.

You will encourage and support people to engage in the local community, clubs, cinema, shows, days out, gym, pub lunches shopping, and activities of our personal choice, they enjoy swimming, family activities and day trips.

You will support a community within Wakefield itself, across several services there are long‑standing friendships, and you will support to maintain these relationships.

We will be closely working with new partnerships, exciting new prospects, and activities for the entire community to enjoy.

Carlton Close is a supported living project for 3 individuals with learning disabilities, 24 hours a day.

The property is a bungalow set in a quiet cul de sac. It has a large communal open plan dining space, it is wheelchair accessible throughout, a beautiful conservatory and ensuites for all the bedrooms.

The property is in the market town of Hemsworth, there are regular buses linking the town with Barnsley, Wakefield and Doncaster.

We live within a short walking distance from a playing field, the local amenities and busy marketplace which contains shops and a range of cafes, a library and a local farm shop.

Other Information

We will have a core background team on duty 24/7 so there is overnight shifts and we will provide additional 1:1 support, ranging from personal care, housekeeping, and meals to days out and trips to the shops and activities.
