Job summary

Downing Care in Surrey is seeking an experienced and dedicated Support Worker to join a Brand-New Supported Living Service in Camberley. You will support individuals in their own flats, helping with daily living, medication management, and attending health and wellbeing appointments.

We offer full training for new staff, and value someone who is courteous, enthusiastic, self-motivated, well-organised and able to lead others. A driving licence is preferred to support service users.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or willingness to work towards.
• Be well-organised, Self-Motivated and delegating work appropriately.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise others.
• Experience or willingness to undertake training on administering medication and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals to administer or manage their medication and ensuring supplies are in place.
• Arranging and supporting attendance at regular health and wellbeing appointments.
• Engaging and guiding individuals to gain social skills and home and life skills.
• Supporting individuals to achieve planned goals and personal wishes and dreams.
• Guiding individuals to access employment, education and leisure opportunities.
• Assisting tenants to develop and maintain relationships with family and friends.
• Helping tenants to become active and valued members of the community.
• Providing verbal or physical support for budget or banking needs.
• Monitoring and recording daily activities, events and behaviours using our electronic system.

Are you an experienced Support Worker or looking for a career in Supported Living? Look no further.

We are currently looking for a courteous, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Support Worker to join our company based in Surrey for our Brand-New Supported Living Service. As a Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting individuals in their own flat which are 8 flats in one location in Camberley. We are looking for someone with experience in supporting people that need positive behaviour support and encouragement in their day to day lives, however we have a full training package for any new staff so if you are looking to give something back to people that need support this role could be for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SUPPORT WORKER:

• Supporting individuals to administer or manage their medication and ensuring the medication needed is ordered and in place for use.
• Be responsible for arranging and supporting people to attend regular heath & wellbeing appointments.
• Be engaging and guiding to help people we support gain social skills and home and life skills.
• Support individuals to achieve planned goals and personal wishes and dreams.
• Guide the people we support to access employment, education and leisure opportunities if they wish to.
• Assist tenants to develop and maintain relationships with family and friends.
• Support tenants to become active and valued members of the community.
• Be a verbal or physical support for any budget or banking needs.
• Monitor and record daily activities, events and behaviours through our electronic system.

ABOUT YOU

• NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or willing to work towards
• Be well-organised, Self-Motivated and delegating work appropriately.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise others.
• An understanding of Support planning, Risk assessing and the Mental Capacity Act (DOLs)
• Be experienced in or confident to undertake training on administering medication.
• A full driving licence is preferred, and willing to use Business insurance or holds Business insurance and happy to use own vehicle to support Service users
• Above all, have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling.
