Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a passionate Learning Support Worker for a vibrant SEN centre in the community. You will develop communication and independence in young adults with learning difficulties, including ASD, supporting life and employability skills.

The role is Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with 1:1 and small-group support on-site and occasional community activities. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults or children with learning or communication difficulties.
• Ability to support life skills, employability skills and progression.
• Demonstrates honesty, trustworthiness and ethical behavior.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Own transport or reliable commute.

Responsibilities

• Interacting and participating with students to develop skills and independence.
• Support students' participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community.
• Provide support and care identified in students' individual learning plans.
• Encourage and enable students to maintain personal and environmental hygiene.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site as required.

This fabulous SEN centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Worker to change the lives of young adults with learning difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Your focus will be to help your students become effective communicators and independent individuals. Your support learners with life skills, employability skills and further education support.

Your support learners on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is based in an education centre however some of the work you do will be supporting in the community.

This role is needed Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Your responsibilities will include:

• - Interacting and participating with the students in the development of skills, supporting pupils to reach their potential for independence
• - Supporting Clients' participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community
• - Providing the support and care identified in students' individual learning plans
• - Encouraging and enabling students to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene
• - Participating in relevant training to achieve required qualifications and attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
