Job summary

Priory Melton Place in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Support Worker to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support residents transitioning from hospital to independent living within a 24/7 on-site care setting.

You will work alongside qualified staff to deliver person-centred care, focused on recovery, wellbeing and dignity, while respecting confidentiality. Training and development pathways are available to progress into leadership and clinical roles.

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSEs in Mathematics and English.
• Good communication, listening and observational skills.
• Understands the importance of confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
• Basic IT literacy and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A compassionate, patient-focused approach, with a commitment to maintaining dignity, safeguarding and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support Registered Nurses in delivering individualised patient care, promoting patients’ wellbeing, dignity and treatment.
• Assist patients with personal care, including dressing, bathing and toileting, while maintaining their privacy and dignity.
• Observe and monitor patients’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff and recording information accurately.
• Support patient observations, engagement, escorted leave and de-escalation activities following appropriate training and competency assessments.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, clean and supportive ward environment, adhering to infection control, safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
