Job summary

Positive OT & Case Management Ltd. is seeking part-time and bank Support Workers to provide person-centred care to clients with complex needs. Roles involve personal care, medication assistance via gastrostomy, and community engagement, with emphasis on dignity and safeguarding.

Applicants should have a genuine passion for helping vulnerable people, strong communication, and the flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and holidays. DBS checks will be completed for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills for recording and reporting.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Supporting a full time wheelchair user with moving and handling
• Assisting with medication administration through gastrostomy
• Assisting with blended diet administration through gastrostomy
• Supporting him to engage in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
• Following individual care plans and report any changes or concerns to supervisors.
• Upholding dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.

Person Specification

Desirable

• Previous experience in a care or support role.


• Level 2 or above qualification in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).


• First Aid and Manual Handling training.


• Knowledge of person-centred care approaches.


• Understanding his specific needs (e.g., learning disability, non-verbal, lennox gastaut syndrome, complex epilepsy, gastrostomy).
