Job summary

The YOU Trust LTD is recruiting a Support Worker for our Learning Disabilities Service in Petersfield. This role involves assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and community access to help clients lead independent lives.

We require flexible, patient and compassionate individuals; driving licence or willingness to use their own car is preferred. Sleep-in shifts and varied hours form part of the role with excellent training opportunities.

  • UK manual driving licence or willingness to use own car.

Responsibilities

  • Support Learning Disabilities clients in a Supported Living setting; assist with daily tasks.
  • Help with cooking, cleaning and community access.
  • Provide personal care including toileting as needed.
  • Deliver safe, person-centred support to boost independence.

Support Worker

Location: Petersfield

Salary:£17,880.75 plus £506.25 MRA (£26,490pa plus £750 MRA FTE)

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time (Typical hours are 27 hours per week plus sleep in shifts)

YOU is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Wiltshire, Somerset and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives. We also maintain an in-house pool of sessional workers, which we refer to as the ‘Premier Crew’.

Essential Criteria
  • Proof of right to work in the UK. Please be advised we do NOT offer sponsorship.
  • Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • Experience of supporting people with a variety of needs including personal care, money management, accessing the community and household chores
  • Hold a UK manual Driving Licence or be willing to use your own car

  • Be able to do sleep-in
The Role

We're recruiting for Support Workers to join our Learning Disabilities Service in Petersfield. This is a great opportunity to support clients with learning disabilities manage different parts of their lives in a Supported Living setting. You'll be supporting with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and accessing into the community. Clients will also need support with personal care, including toileting.

Your role is to provide safe, person-centred support to boost our client’s independence and help them live their lives the way they want to.

You need to be professional and proactive in all that you do, with a motivational, encouraging and supportive approach with clients and colleagues alike. Relevant knowledge and skills relating to individuals with a learning disability would assist you in this role, but if you are the right person for the job, we will support you to gain the experience you need.
