Job summary

Potens Group is seeking a Support Worker for our Preston service. You will support adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs on a 1-1 basis, promoting independence and community access. The role is based in a spacious 3-floor house and includes a mix of waking nights and day shifts.

We require a passion to support others, the ability to work independently, and at least 2 years’ experience in mental health. A manual driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• We require a passion to support others and make a difference in daily life.
• Ability to work independently, multitask and stay organised.
• Keep a positive attitude under pressure; be quick to learn and hands-on.
• Two years’ experience in the mental health sector is essential.
• Driver's license preferred (manual) and at least 1 year driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and some forensic histories on a 1-1 basis.
• Promote independence and help service users access the community.
• Maintain a high level of support according to service needs; engage with service users’ interests.
• Work across a 3-floor house with 10 en-suite rooms; shifts include waking nights.
