Job summary

Suffolk Mind in Sawston, Cambridge, is seeking a committed Support Worker to assist tenants in daily living within our supported housing. The role involves one-to-one support, emotional backing and practical help with daily tasks in a caring, person-centred environment.

Full-time, permanent position with a 6-week rota, including weekends and unsociable hours. Salary starts around £23,492 with potential earnings to £28,600+ per year, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in supported housing or willingness to learn.
• Awareness of welfare rights and benefits.
• Willingness to help individuals participate in all aspects of the service.
• Ability to provide personal and emotional support to people recovering from mental health problems.
• Possess basic IT and administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of one-to-one support with daily living tasks (e.g. cooking, shopping, budgeting).
• Provide emotional support and assist tenants in daily activities within supported housing.
• Contribute to a positive, person-centred support environment for residents.
