Job summary

Cygnet is seeking a Support Worker (Learning Disabilities) at Oakhurst Lodge in Wales. You will contribute to a stable, rewarding career by supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities, helping them live independently and participate in community activities.

The role offers 12-hour day shifts on a 7-day rota, a 42-hour permanent contract, and a competitive hourly rate with progression after 3 months. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities or working within a care setting.
  • Compassionate, patient and proactive approach to support.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with residents and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centered support to adults with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Support daily routines, independence, and meaningful community activities.
  • Assist residents with activities, outings, and social events to promote wellbeing.
  • Participate in training and DBS checks as part of ongoing duties.

About the Role

Looking for a stable, rewarding career with great variety? Join our team on a 42-hour permanent contract , working 12-hour day shifts across a 7-day rota.

What to expect:
  • Full-time permanent employment
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Around two weekends per month
  • Early shifts from 7:00 am
  • Later shifts finishing by 10:00 pm

Oakhurst Lodge is an 8-placement specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities who may present with behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
