Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a Learning Disabilities Support Worker for Oakwood Gardens in WV5 0BR, Wombourne. The role is full-time (42 hours per week) with day and night shifts, including alternate weekends. Due to client requests, the role is currently limited to male candidates.

The service supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs in nine self-contained bungalows, offering independence within a private tenancy setting. Training and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience working with learning disabilities.
• At least 1 year of experience in a support setting with learning disabilities.
• Excellent communicator and a good team player.
• Caring and understanding with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating environment.
• Passionate about empowering and supporting service user independence.

Responsibilities

• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all residents.
• Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
• Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs.
• Safeguard all residents and report concerns to senior staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for all residents.
• Go out with residents into the local community for events and activities.
• Complete residents’ records to help monitor health.

Be a part of it.Cygnet Healthcare is looking for a Learning Disabilities Support Worker to join our team working at Oakwood Gardens.You’ll be working 42 hours a week (days 07:45am -08:00pm and nights 19:45pm - 08:00am, including alternative weekends) making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Oakwood Gardens.Due to the clients request, we are currently only looking for male Support Workers to apply and interview.Oakwood Gardens has 9 self-contained bungalows supporting adults over the age of 18 with learning difficulties & autism, located in WV5 0BR, Wombourne.Our Supported Living provides nine tenancies. The service empowers individuals with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviours to live more independently.
