Job summary

Keys Care seeks a compassionate Support Worker for Kington House in Barry to help adults with mental health needs with daily routines, activities and personal support.

No prior care experience is required as full training, coaching and development are provided; join a supportive team committed to promoting independence, wellbeing and safe, respectful care.

  • Maintain health care needs, including accompanying to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teach life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Assist with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.

Job description

HOURS:

35 hours per week, Day and Wake Night position available

About Kington House

Kington House is a community-based residential home in Barry, We support male adults with mental health needs — including schizophrenia, personality disorders and alcohol or substance misuse — and have extensive experience of learning disabilities, dual diagnoses and acquired brain injuries, providing rehabilitation that focuses on greater independence.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including:
  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.

Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development
