Job summary

Keeps Group operates a community residential home in Barry and is recruiting a Support Worker to assist adults with mental health needs. You will contribute to day-to-day care, promote independence, and help residents develop life skills in a supportive environment.

  • Maintain health care needs; accompany to routine appointments or administer medication.
  • Teach life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Assist with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Provide guidance and emotional support.

Kington House is a community-based residential home in Barry, We support male adults with mental health needs - including schizophrenia, personality disorders and alcohol or substance misuse - and have extensive experience of learning disabilities, dual diagnoses and acquired brain injuries, providing rehabilitation that focuses on greater independence.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including:
  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development
