Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting at the Health and Social Care department to support customers who have experienced homelessness, building independence and confidence while updating support plans. The role is client-facing, involves collaboration with external partners, and aims to promote wellbeing, education and employment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults who have experienced homelessness.
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic approach.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Strong organisational skills with good literacy and numeracy.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
• Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar).

Responsibilities

• Support customers who have experienced homelessness to build independence and reach their potential.
• Assess needs and update support plans.
• Act as the first point of contact for customer queries.
• Build positive relationships that respect choice, privacy and dignity.
• Work with external partners to boost confidence, health and wellbeing, and encourage education and employment.
• (This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).
