Important Information - before applying, please note;
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our Forfar Housing Support Service, supporting 4 individuals with Learning Disabilities, Complex Sensory needs and Behaviours that can challenge.
This isn’t a role where 2 days look the same. The people we support need staff who are positive, innovative and adaptable. People who take time to understand how each individual communicates, what matters to them and how they experience the world around them.
The individuals we support have a range of complex communication needs. At times, they may communicate distress through behaviours that can be challenging. You will need to remain Calm, Confident, Consistent, seeking to understand what the person is communicating and respond to them in a positive, supportive and respectful way.
A big part of the role is also about having fun and creating meaningful experiences. We want staff who can think outside the box, come up with new ideas and find creative ways for people to participate in activities they enjoy.
You will work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals to provide consistent high-quality support.
You’ll be joining a small, welcoming and experienced staff team, supported by a Registered Manager, an on site Locality Manager and Team Leader. You’ll always have guidance when you need it — but you’ll also have the space to bring your own ideas, energy and compassion to your role. What matters most to us, is you have a genuine passion for supporting people to live full, meaningful, independent lives.
Shift pattern includes a variety of earlies, lates and waking night shifts offering a flexible working structure.
Team members work either alone or in a 2:1 arrangement, but always support just one individual to ensure person centred care. Shifts are assigned through a rota system, to maintain consistency and fairness across the team. We expect full flexibility from our staff to enable us to meet shift requirements.
We offer a rewarding role with the opportunity to develop your skills and future career in an enriching environment. View our Work With Us Information Pack.
