Job summary

Sense is seeking a caring and motivated Support Worker to join our Park Road residential team in Accrington, supporting five individuals with deafblindness to live independent lives. The role is permanent, full-time, 36 hours per week, with day shifts from 8:00am to 8:00pm and alternating weekends.

You will provide person-centred, practical support, help with daily activities, and learn new communication methods to suit each person.

Qualifications

• Previous caring or support experience.
• Ability to work day shifts and weekends.
• Willingness to use new communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Providing personalised care and support in line with individual plans.
• Encouraging independence and involvement in everyday decisions.
• Supporting mobility, personal care and health needs.
• Helping with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning and shopping.
• Assisting access to local community and activities.
• Adapting communication methods to individual needs.
• Maintaining accurate records and sharing information with colleagues.
• Working with families and professionals to ensure consistent support.
