Job summary

Riverside invites applications for a Support Worker in Manchester. The service provides accommodation for people experiencing homelessness and complex needs, offering support with employability, budgeting and moving on to more permanent housing.

You will work with customers to build confidence, signpost to services, and complete risk assessments while maintaining detailed records. The role is full-time with a rolling 7-day rota and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people.
• Experience delivering structured support and risk management.
• Team player with a caring, empathetic and resilient attitude.
• Understanding of supporting vulnerable people, including lived experience could be homelessness or addiction.
• Ability to work flexible hours and lone-working as required.

Responsibilities

• Leading on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans with stakeholders.
• Organising regular reviews of support and risk plans.
• Engaging customers to meet outcomes and develop life skills.
• Assisting customers with day-to-day support and tenancy matters.
• Identifying opportunities for employment, education and training and removing barriers.
• Signposting to external support services (food banks, probation, social services).
• Supporting customers to be tenancy ready and financially independent.
• Monitoring healthcare needs and liaising with healthcare professionals.
• Empowering customers to move towards self-management of medications.
• Leading on group work and other support initiatives.
• Record and update accurate customer information on digital platforms.
• Delivering a flexible, responsive service including lone-working when required.
