An established charity is seeking compassionate individuals to empower and support those with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. This role involves assisting three independent men in managing their tenancies, seeking employment, and promoting their overall well-being. Your listening skills and sensitivity will be crucial as you navigate their choices and provide non-judgmental support. We are looking for someone to support three very independent men to live the lives they choose. Someone with the knowledge of working with individuals with LD, Autism, and mental health. Or new to this sort of role but able to recognise the value of empowering others and sensitive to people's needs.
Supporting individuals to manage tenancies, seeking and keeping employment, have your finger on the pulse of being able to signpost to good physical and mental health, social opportunities, and human rights. Be confident in recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns. Being receptive to choices people make and supporting from a non-judgemental way.
Proactive in supporting people to develop independent skills, confident in using systems to record in a professional way to be shared with our stakeholders.
You will be working various shifts between the hours of 08:00-19:30. This could be a long day or shorter shifts back-to-back with individuals so you will need to be flexible and expect to work weekends.
