Job summary

Dimensions Group is seeking a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker for Taunton. You will help create a safe, calm, and supportive night environment across two nearby homes, with rotating shifts to cover three nights per week.

As part of a caring team, you’ll record health and safety notes, support residents with routines, and provide personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect. Training and DBS are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for people with disabilities or in supported living settings.
  • Ability to work night shifts and maintain safety and dignity.
  • Willingness to learn and follow care plans and recording systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out night checks to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic environment during the night.
  • Record notes and health and safety checks using IT systems.
  • Support residents with evening or night routines with dignity.
  • Provide personal care when required with compassion.

About the role

You will work 3 nights per week across two nearby homes in Taunton, both located within an approximate 2-mile radius of each other. One home supports five gentleman, while the other supports three men and one women, all with a range of disabilities and support needs.

Each night, you’ll play a vital part in creating a safe, calm and comforting environment where people feel secure, respected and well-supported.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular keeping-safe checks to ensure everyone is comfortable and settled
  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment throughout the night
  • Accurately recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems, including support notes and health and safety checks
  • Creating a reassuring, therapeutic atmosphere that promotes wellbeing
  • Supporting people with their evening or night-time routines in ways that matter to them
  • Providing personal care, when required, always with dignity, compassion and respect
