Job summary

Priory Hillside in Burnley is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help residents live their best lives. You will assist with personal care, daily living tasks and activities, supporting recovery and wellbeing alongside qualified staff.

This role is female-only due to residents' needs. The service cares for three individuals on the autistic spectrum or with learning disabilities, on a 4-week rolling rota with 42 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • UK driving licence held for at least 3 years
  • Experience in a similar care environment
  • Good communication skills to support residents

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and daily living tasks to meet residents' needs
  • Update person-centred support plans and daily notes; maintain charts
  • Build professional relationships with residents, families, staff and stakeholders; guide less experienced colleagues

Hillside

£13.75 per hour

Full Time – 42 Hours - 14 hour shifts and 7 hour hour shifts on a 4 week rolling rota

Hillside has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team.

Due to the needs of our residents, we can only consider female applicants for this role.

Priory Hillside is a residential service, located just outside of Burnley. We provide support to three individuals, aged 17 years and above, who are on the autistic spectrum or who have a learning disability. We also cater for those who may have a mental health diagnosis, including a personality disorder.

Set within a beautiful rural setting, in the South Pennines area, we aim to help residents create and achieve goals, in order to lead a fulfilled and enriched life.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents

  • You will ensure our residents have any personal needs or requirements met; including any personal care, participation in activities or support with daily living tasks
  • You’ll complete daily admin including updating person centred support and care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes
  • Maintain professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders
  • Provide advice and guidance to less experienced staff undertaking similar duties.

What you’ll bring to the role
  • You will need to have had a UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years in order to take our residents out and about
  • Experience within a similar environment
  • Good communication skills in order to be able to support our resident
