Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking a Waking Nights Support Worker for Stirchley House Extra Care in Telford to assist elderly residents during the night shift, helping with mobility and personal care while preserving dignity.

You will support residents at night to access dining and social areas, participate in activities, and ensure a calm, respectful environment. Full training and structured support are provided, with payments by BACS every 4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the elderly residents at night with mobility to dining areas and social spaces, while ensuring privacy and dignity.
• Support personal care activities including washing, hygiene and dressing, maintaining respect and confidentiality.
• Encourage participation in recreational and social activities with residents and staff, promoting well-being.
• Provide a kind, supportive presence during challenging days and contribute to a positive care environment.

About the role

As a Waking Nights Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You'll help residents with restricted mobility to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You'll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing - this will mean you'll understand the importance of privacy and dignity - so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with residents, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Pay Rates - £13.90 nights

working on alternate weekends as part of rota
