Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Extra Care Scheme in Hartfields Retirement Village, Hartlepool. You will assist elderly residents with mobility, assist with personal care and help them maintain independence and dignity in daily routines.

You will support social and recreational activities, contributing to a warm, compassionate care environment. Full or part-time hours are available.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with mobility to dining and communal areas as needed
• Support personal care activities including washing, hygiene and dressing
• Promote privacy, dignity and independence for residents
• Encourage participation in recreational and social activities with residents

Job description

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You'll help residents with restricted mobility to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request. You'll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing - this will mean you'll understand the importance of privacy and dignity - so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with residents, and as a group. And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!
