Job summary

MacIntyre is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist people with learning disabilities or autism, living in supported environments. The role focuses on being alongside individuals as they participate in everyday life, celebrating achievements and providing reassurance during difficult moments.

No prior care experience is required as full training is provided, but a UK manual driving licence and the right to work in the UK are essential due to DBS checks and on-going training.

Qualifications

• UK manual driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Pre-employment checks including DBS.

Responsibilities

• Support people to take part in everyday activities at home and in the community.
• Get to know the people supported and what makes them happy and what a good day looks like.
• Encourage people through achievements they have worked for.
• Offer a steady, reassuring presence while people navigate challenging moments.
• Help people build lives around their own choices, interests and community connections.
