Job summary

Nottingham Community Housing Association in Worksop is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our 24-hour Supported Living service. You will assist adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism and complex behaviours to live independently with dignity.

You will coordinate daily tasks, encourage participation in community activities, maintain records and work with colleagues and professionals to deliver person-centred care.

Qualifications

  • A caring, adaptable and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and genuine commitment to improving people's lives.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving licence is required unless disability precludes this.
  • Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning and personal care.
  • Help individuals access community activities, social opportunities and leisure pursuits.
  • Assist with appointments, shopping, finances and medication support.
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
  • Work positively and safely with individuals who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to person-centred support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
