Job summary

Newark Recruitment is recruiting Support Workers to assist adults with a range of care and support needs in Evesham. You will provide person-centred care, promote independence and help with daily living activities in a safe environment.

The role involves supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs, attending appointments and following care plans. Full training will be provided and the team works across community and residential settings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in support work, healthcare or social care is desirable.
• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts according to service requirements.
• Reliable, responsible and professional attitude.
• Willingness to learn and complete all mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of support needs.
• Promoting independence, dignity, choice and control in daily life.
• Supporting individuals with daily living activities and personal care where required.
• Assisting with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration.
• Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs or complex needs.
• Encouraging participation in social, recreational and community activities.
• Supporting individuals to attend appointments and access community services.
• Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Providing emotional support and promoting wellbeing.
• Supporting individuals to develop life skills and maintain independence.

• Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing.
