Job summary

Certitude is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist people in their homes and community settings in Ealing. You will help individuals live the lives they want by providing personalised support and building trusting relationships.

The role focuses on promoting choice, enabling participation and offering strengths-based assistance to help clients achieve their goals. Training and coaching are provided to support career growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to support people who may present challenging behaviours
• Maintain composure in difficult situations
• Experience helping people with learning disabilities/autism to take positive risks
• Holding a manual driving licence and ability to drive a 7-seater van (preferred)
• Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda and its implications

Salary: £26,756 per annum

Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will work directly with people in their homes and in the community. You will be expected to support people with a variety of needs, enabling them to live the lives they want.

Duties will include:

• Building great relationships with people we support and the people important to their lives
• Promoting choice and participation when supporting people with daily tasks
• Co-creating opportunities for people to try new things and offering information to support people to make their own choices
• Offering personalised support by working with people’s strength to build their confidence and overcome obstacles with the aim of achieving their goals
• Encouraging people to participate in activities that bring them joy and meaning

To be a Support Worker at Certitude, it is essential you:

• Supporting people who may challenge (verbally, physically) particularly people on the autistic spectrum
• Keeping calm and confident in challenging situations
• Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives
• Possess a manual driving license and be able to drive a 7‑seater van (Ideally)
• Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda
