About The Role

We are looking for Children's Support Worker/Carer who care about making every moment matter for the young people we support.

Job title: Children's Support Worker/Carer

Location: Luton (LU3 postcode area)

Hours: 42 hours per week

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting children and young people to ensure that every moment matters?

As a member of the team you will need a real passion for providing a high standard of care & support, it is desirable to:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Have previous experience supporting children and young people with learning & physical disabilities

The Role

Provide a high standard of support that enables our children and young people to be as independent as they can, learn and develop through education and experience, stay healthy and most importantly, have a fun, fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
  • The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.

Wycombe Way is a children's residential care facility based in Luton.

We offer long term care for children of any gender, with either a learning disability or a physical disability, or both.

We aim to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children where they’ll be protected from harm, and seek to give children rich and varied experiences during their time at our facility, to help them learn and grow.
