Job summary

Beacon House, part of Priory, is a welcoming 17-bed residential service based in Melton Mowbray, offering Flourish, our therapy-led addiction treatment programme. We seek a Senior Support Worker to assist with assessments, implement care plans, and support residents’ wellbeing.

The role focuses on practical and emotional support, encouraging independence, and working with a compassionate team to help residents reach their potential in a calm setting.

Qualifications

  • Must have right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a similar setting is preferred.
  • We welcome people with lived experience.
  • Training in drug and alcohol treatment will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support peers with performance and professional development.
  • Lead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadership.
  • Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, changing bed clothes).
  • Assist with attending medical appointments for residents.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' well-being to senior staff.
  • Support residents' participation in social and recreational activities and promote independence.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, youll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. You will have gained experience in a similar setting, supervising and leading others. While a formal qualification is not required, you should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team leadership and management with Priory.
