Job summary

Portman Recruitment is seeking caring Support Workers to join our East Sussex bank, covering Newhaven, Seaford, Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding areas. You will help adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental-health needs to live more independent lives, including personal care, meals, and community activities.

The role requires recent care experience; a driving licence and DBS are preferred. You will work flexibly across days, evenings, weekends, and nights to meet service demand.

Qualifications

• Recent professional care or support-work experience is required.
• Experience with autism or mental-health needs is beneficial.
• UK driving licence and transport access strongly preferred.

Portman Recruitment is building a local bank of experienced Support Workers for current and upcoming assignments across East Sussex.

You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental-health needs, physical disabilities and other complex needs to live fulfilling and increasingly independent lives.

The work may involve personal care, medication support, meal preparation, household tasks, community activities, appointments and emotional reassurance.

The successful candidate will be:

Due to the geographical spread of the services, a full UK driving licence and access to transport are strongly preferred.

An enhanced DBS, suitable references, right to work in the UK and current mandatory training will be required.
