Job summary

Portman Recruitment is seeking caring Support Workers to join our East Sussex bank, covering Newhaven, Seaford, Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding areas. You will help adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental-health needs to live more independent lives, including personal care, meals, and community activities.

The role requires recent care experience; a driving licence and DBS are preferred. You will work flexibly across days, evenings, weekends, and nights to meet service demand.

Qualifications

• Recent professional care or support-work experience is required.
• Experience with autism or mental-health needs is beneficial.
• UK driving licence and transport access strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities in daily living tasks.
• Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Facilitate activities and appointments, providing emotional reassurance.
• Record information accurately and follow care plans.
