Job summary

Potens is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our service in Telford. You will work on weekends (8:00 am – 4:00 pm or 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm) providing 1-1 support to residents to promote independence and community access.

This role involves personal care and building meaningful relationships to support each individual’s goals. The successful candidate will join a team in a 13-person adult-supported living service, with DBS and background checks conducted.

Qualifications

• Experience in support or care roles is preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable performing personal care tasks as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 support to promote independence and community access.
• Maintain high levels of support to meet service needs.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Engage with service users about their likes and goals to encourage participation.

We are looking for a Support worker to join our team at our service in Telford.

What you'll be doing:

• You'll support on a 1-1 basis, promoting independence and encouraging the people we support to access the community.
• Working to maintain a high level of support that's required for the service needs.
• Personal care will be required.
• Participate and be as enthusiastic about their likes and wants as they are.
• This is within an adult-supported living service of 13, and they all have their own self-contained flat.
• Shifts are on weekends only, 8.00 am - 4.00 pm or 2.00 pm- 10.00 pm

• Able to work independently, multitask, organise and prioritise work to suit the people we support.
• Exceptional at building relationships and influencing at all levels, internal and external.
• Ability to execute and deliver, whilst keeping a positive attitude under pressure
• Quick learner, hands-on, willing to be flexible in tasks and activities
