Job summary

Compassionate Care For All Limited is seeking compassionate, dedicated Support Workers for our supported living services in Stoke-on-Trent. You will help adults 18+ with diverse needs to live independently, make choices and reach personal goals.

Job description

Compassionate Care For All Limited is looking for compassionate, dedicated and experienced Support Workers to join our supported living services in Stoke-on-Trent. We support adults aged 18 years and above, including older adults aged 65+, who may have learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex mental health needs, substance misuse issues, physical disabilities and behaviours that challenge. As a Support Worker, you will play an important role in helping the people we support to live as independently as possible, make their own choices and achieve their personal goals.

  • Supporting individuals with daily living and independent living skills.
  • Promoting dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing.
  • Supporting individuals to access the community, appointments and meaningful activities.
  • Providing emotional and practical support.
  • Supporting individuals with mental health and complex support needs.
  • Following Positive Behaviour Support and risk management plans.
  • Supporting medication routines where trained and authorised.
  • Supporting personal care where this forms part of an individual's agreed support needs.
  • Encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive relationships.
  • Supporting individuals with substance misuse-related needs in accordance with their support plans.
  • Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional daily records and support notes.
  • Working effectively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals and other members of the support team.
  • Responding appropriately to incidents and changes in an individual's presentation or wellbeing.

We are looking for people who are kind, patient, reliable, responsible and genuinely passionate about supporting others.

Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience working in supported living, social care, residential care, mental health, learning disability services or a similar sector.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of person-centred support.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when supporting individuals with complex needs or behaviours that challenge.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and undertake additional training.
  • A willingness to study and improve your professional knowledge and skills.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
  • The ability to reliably attend services in Stoke-on-Trent.
Location Requirement

Applicants should currently live in Stoke-on-Trent or be willing to relocate to Stoke-on-Trent. This is important because our supported living services are based in Stoke-on-Trent and staff must be able to reliably attend their scheduled shifts.

Driving Licence - Advantage A full UK driving licence is a significant advantage. Driving is not necessarily essential for every position, but applicants who can drive may have greater opportunities to support service users with community activities, appointments and other activities where appropriate.

Shift pattern

Staff must therefore be willing to work a flexible rota, which may include:

  • Long day shifts
  • Short day shifts
  • Early and late shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Weekends
  • Bank holidays

The ability to work flexibly and reliably as part of a team is essential.
