Job description

I am in my 40s, I love animals, and have 2 dogs of my own. I have recently been raising several chickens from hatchlings, and they are now laying eggs for us. I am a bit of a handyman and built the chicken coop myself.

In addition to undertaking practical projects around my home, I enjoy woodworking and attend two woodworking classes weekly. Others have said I am a wood artisan, and I enjoy the products I make, especially when finished with resin applications.

I am looking for someone to assist me with my daily activities. Knowledge and experience supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) would be preferable. However, if you are an outgoing, resilient person with good communication skills and empathy, you could learn a lot from me about TBIs. Due to how my brain injury affects my communication, good fluency in English is important.

I am seeking someone to join my team and work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There may also be opportunities to cover additional shifts within my small team of support workers from time to time.

If you believe you are the right person, please apply now. I look forward to meeting you.

Essential Qualities and Experience:

  • A valid Driver's License
  • A reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
  • Current First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Must like dogs

The successful candidate(s) will also be required to have completed or complete the following training:

  • Infection Control
  • Positive Behaviour Support
