Job summary

Komplex Community is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Stafford to empower people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs to live independently with dignity.

You will work 12-hour shifts including days and waking nights, delivering person-centred care, assisting with daily tasks, and supporting life skills and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support is desirable.
• Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence are essential.
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with essential daily tasks such as cooking, personal care, cleaning, and budgeting.
• Encouraging independence and building confidence through meaningful activities and community access.
• Being a calm, reliable presence during difficult times, offering emotional reassurance and structure.
• Promoting routines and relationships that help people feel safe, respected, and included.
• Monitoring and recording progress, recognising and celebrating small wins every day.
• Working regular 12-hour shifts — including waking nights — to provide consistent and high-quality care.

Your Role as a Support Worker

You’ll be part of a dedicated, hands-on team supporting individuals with a range of complex needs such as Autism, Learning disabilities, Mental health conditions, & Challenging behaviour. To help the individual live safely and independently in their own homes. Your work will make a direct and lasting impact.

What We’re Looking For

• A Full UK (manual) driving licence
• A minimum of one year’s experience working in care or support (desirable)
• Compassion, resilience, and emotional intelligence
• Confidence working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping
• Flexibility to work across services in Shropshire and Staffordshire
• A team-first attitude and commitment to delivering person-centred care

Additional Information
