Location: Margate, Kent

Salary: £25,845 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: Full-time opportunities available

You’ll need to be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and sleep‑ins across a seven‑day rota.

Make a difference every day. Build a career that makes you smile.

At Avenues, we believe that when our colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered, they can provide outstanding support to the people we work alongside. Our community is one where people smile, laugh, grow and achieve great things together.

If you’re looking for a rewarding career where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re already working in social care or you’re looking for a meaningful career change, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you’ll support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex needs and mobility needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. Some of the people we support use wheelchairs.

Our services are located close to Margate town centre with good public transport links. A full UK driving licence is desirable to help the people we support access activities, appointments and their local community.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting people with everyday living and helping them achieve their personal goals.
  • Encouraging people to access their local community, hobbies, education and leisure activities.
  • Helping people maintain relationships with family and friends.
  • Supporting individuals to manage their finances and make informed choices.
  • Assisting with shopping, cooking and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming home.
  • Providing personal care with dignity, respect and compassion.
  • Promoting independence, choice and inclusion in everything you do.
What we’re looking for

We’re looking for caring, reliable and positive people who enjoy helping others.

You don’t need previous experience in social care‑we’ll provide all the training you need. Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, childcare or volunteering can provide valuable transferable skills.

Most importantly, you’ll bring:

  • A caring and respectful approach.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.
  • Reliability and flexibility.
  • A commitment to supporting people to live the life they choose.
Training and development

From day one, you’ll have access to a comprehensive induction and a range of accredited, award‑winning training programmes at no cost to you, including the Health and Social Care Diploma, helping you build a rewarding long‑term career.
